I patterned the Winchester Longbeard XR in 3 inch #5 shot at 20, 30, 40, and 50 yards using a Mossberg 500, 26 inch barrel with a Carlson’s Longbeard XR choke. My pattern at 20 yards was the size of a baseball and the load didn’t disappoint at further distances. It still was lethal at even 50 yards with 16 pellets in the head and neck. More than I have got with any other load. Last season I harvested 2 longbeards using those 3" #5 Longbeard XR loads and both turkeys dropped like a stone!
